Sertraline and feeling overtired!

I have been taking 50mg for about 6 months, and like most of you the beginning for me was difficult. I asked myself should I carry on because my anxiety made work seem like the most impossible thing, all that talking, smiling or even eye contact was bloody hard work!

But it does get better. Taking Sertraline is no walk through the park, you will have to work with it and fight its side effects to get the most from it. I still feel overtired every morning and want to sleep until midday, this feeling is always there. I don't lay in however, as this creates more anxiety for me when I do get up and leads to me feeling low in mood for the rest of the day. I try to get up every morning, early. In doing so I see improvements in myself, I am more lucid and more positive. I look forward to seeing friends and even going to work!

Hi daniel I'm also on 50mg and have been for 7 weeks now. I was doing really well from 4 weeks, but X'mas day I took a dip and had a panick attack, since then I've gone off my food again, so 4th day now where I feel the anxiety, today not as bad. But can I ask did you get bad dips? And if so how long would it last? I'm not sure weather I need a dose increase? Or should I try and tough it out a bit longer?

    Thank you

I think you should carry on with it lattifa. Sert for me was no 'quick fix' and I had a lot of dips to begin with. Don't expect too much from yourself if it isn't working, carry on, you have made a decision to take this med so stand by that decision. If your bad dips are affecting you everyday and all you think about is the medication you are in the same place I was in months ago, and i'm now ok :-)

Hi Daniel, like you I have been taking Sertline for 5 1/2 months....the only time it made me tired was when I first started taking them Obviosly a new drug in the system.....mine have always been white BUT this time mine are Blue? And again made me extremly tired!!!!!.

or curl up in a little ball! Nerrr fight it

this has worked for me I forgot for days to take my tablet over the Christmas period until I realised...and being honest I was becoming to feel a little depressed then I realised about taking Sertline!!!!!!........I remembered yesterday..... And instantly felt calmer and happier within hours!!!!!!

Soooooo I agree for me anyway it's a definite good drug for me....

Hi Daniel, I also feel same..tired all the time, but can focus well on work...but in the morning I do not want to get up, may be because of winters here in India..Its been 2 1/2 months as of now...I can see a lot of imprivement...But sometime I feel low in mood and has uncontolled thoughts, petty ones...They make me anxious, though no more Panic attack, but my BP fluctuate to 140/92...Not sure if anyone else has such side effects..TC..
