Sertraline and gym

Sertraline seems to make me lethargic and kill stamina. Does sertraline impair working out at the gym?

I've also noticed more aches and pains and it's much harder to build core strength.

I hasten to add I'm not a body builder just a regular guy wanting to tone up but I'm beginning to think sertraline is giving me all the downside of the gym (aches and pains stiffness afterwards) and none of the upside of the gym (toning up etc)

Any thoughts very much appreciated please

I took it for 2 an half months. Had to stop it as it was toxic in my body. It was helping mentally but I was sick. Liver enzymes went up, body aches an joint pain. Lost alot of wt. Diaherra alot. So stopped it an everything went back to normal physically but not mentally! Im on antidepressant #4. Prozac an its doin the same damn thing. Im stopping it. I dont know what to do now! Depression an anxiety.

It's interesting that you have noticed that. I used to go to gym 5 mornings a week at 6am never needed an alarm to wake me. But in last 5 months have lost my drive and motivation. Definitely think it is down to sertraline. Am in process of coming off. Can't wait to be finished!!

Yeah I think its not for you. There are tons out there. Its trial an error. Im finding that out. Iv tried Sertraline,Lexapro,Cymbalta an now Prozac. May get off for couple wks an get this poison out an then try Vibryd. Its depressing sometimes that nothing works or toxic in me. Goodluck. Keep exercising!

I've had this trouble too. Sertraline drains the energy out of me. The problem is when I deny myself of any physical exersion the medication makes me lazy and gain weight. I've gained over 8kg during the past 7 months. Physical exercise is very important to overcome the mental illness but with Sertraline it's difficult to do just that. mad
