Sertraline and health anxiety...and every side effect under the sun?!

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been on Sertraline for about 5 weeks, and seem to have had every side effect under the sun! I'm getting interrupted sleep, tingling/heavy arms and legs, fatigue, uneven pupil dilation, eye ache, headaches, upset stomach, breast pain, stomach pain etc etc! Has anyone else suffered this many? It seems to just be one after the other and I'm getting so tired of it!

I'm on sertraline because of health anxiety and general depression, so it's REALLY not helping at the moment, but all I hear is just to stick with it, I don't know if I can bear it 😫

I too was a wreck with side effects.

Extreme fatigue ....palpitations..sweats..dizziness.. brain zaps..headaches ..terrible diarrhea... de-personalisation ....I couldn't leave the house.

This got a little less intense with every increase.

I seemed to lose some side effects but gain others.

However my panic attacks stopped and my anxiety at around 75mg to 100mg. I had felt better at 50 mg but it was short lived.

I think that sometimes sert makes your original symptoms worse before they go away.

I felt like giving up so many times especially when I was lying on my bed staring at the ceiling in a puddle of sweat! Yuck!

But I stuck with it and increased at 25mg a time. I am now on 150mg and side effects have gone although I'm not 100% I'm back at work..driving...shopping...and I am so glad I stuck it out.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do

Thank you! It's really nice to know that I'm not alone, as it's so tiring! I'm thinking of just doing counselling because I seem to wake up with a new side effect every day! you too 💕

I don’t know whether you’ve increased dose but I have 9 days ago. I’m also 5 weeks and nausea and increased anxiety is VILE! I’m scared. I can tell you are as well.

Are you part of the positive Zoloft group on Facebook?

Hi Nefff you are not alone you can get a lot of side effects from antidepressants , some go away after a few weeks and some not at all , with me i was put on 2 different lots , and  this one and all of them made me ill, and most people on this forum told me the same stick with it, ,t will save your life, but what they do not realise we are individuals, and react differently , if you really do not feel well on these go back to your doctor and tell them, if they tell you to stick with them i think it should be up to you maybe a few more weeks at max, but i was on sertraline for 9 weeks and i thought i was dying, so i came of all of them and went for alternative medicine, talking therapy, counselling, i am in counselling now and i feel great, have my good days and bad , but nothing like the way i felt all drugged up

Thank you!! This is exactly what I'm thinking of doing, I just really don't think they're for me 😕 I think I'd rather good and bad days over constant side effects!
