Sertraline and HRT

Posted , 4 users are following.

I'm 6 weeks on Sertraline. Started at 50mg then after a huge setback last week I am now on 100mg. I started HRT patches at the same time but stopped those a week ago as felt they were making me worse. I feel awful nauseated, no appetite, and can't stop crying. I desperately want to feel strong again, as I am messing around my family and employer so much. Are there any middle aged women out there that can give me some positive feedback or have had similar experience?

That is good news, that it gets bettersmile. How long do you think the HRT took to get out of your system? Were you very teary? X

Hi.. On 150mg Zoloft. Tried it twice now, get terrible diarrhea.. Headaches.. Sleepy.. Abdominal bloating +++.. Much better off them but hot sweats not good.. Still better than the alternative though... Like you I struggle a lot at work especially concentration... I take my Zoloft at night as I get too sleepy if I take it in the morning.. You may have to increase your dose of your crying a lot.. I was like that but better since changing from cymbalta to zoloft.. Still get ups and downs but haven't cried since changing... Hope you find your therapeutic range😊

Jean, I am not a woman, but I can encourage you to be patient with the process. I have been on sertraline for years. I was wrecking my family. Sertraline did help me a lot tho it didnt solve all my problems, it helped me to be in a state of mind to get help. I decided to go off it recently and returned to my irrational thinking that crushes others. I am back on now, but it takes time. Be patient. I feel like i had a year of ups and downs then things smoothed out. Just put one foot in front of the other and keep an open mind. Listen to the people that love you.

Thank you all for your insights😊. It seems I just have to hang in the there! I have been on fluoxetine previously and found i didn't seem to have so many bad days on them. Stupid me stopped them thinking I was all better and didn't like the 'disengaged' feeling which is why I'm trying Sertraline this time. Good luck everyone and let's stay in touch to see how everyone gets on. I feel a little better today but did have to take an Ativan last night.
