Hi Janet, I'm currently on 200mg of Sertraline, and have been for a while now. I can assure you that the insomnia is a common side effect, and I remember feeling a mild burning sensation which was quite like indigestion/heartburn, but this subsided after a few days of taking it. It also helps to ensure you've eaten before taking your dose, and are well hydrated (or so I've found).

It'd be a good idea to speak with whoever prescribed the Sertraline to let them know of your experiences; they'll have a much better idea of what to do about it.

Good luck, wishing you all the best!

    hi Tabitha

How long after the increase to 200mg did you start to feel the good effects? My son is on 16 th week and just increase Sertraline 150 to 200mg a week ago. No effect on 150mg. Should he persist? Thanks.

Janet I hope Sertraline works for you. Maybe ask doc to prescribe something to protect your tummy.
