Sertraline and Insomnia. Does it ever go away??

Anyone at all on here that has taken Zoloft and has insomnia, does the insomnia EVER go away? From what I have read on iodine, this antidepressant is one that is guaranteed to cause insomnia long term while taking it. What's the point of taking the medicine to get better if you're miserable without sleep? Someone please chime in and give me some hope cuz I can't live life this or keep taking sleeping medicine because of another medicine side effects. Anxiety and insomnia don't mix well

Everyone is different. It makes some people sleepy. What time do you take it and what's your doese? I take mine before I go bed and I'm fine. Should go away anyway very soon. Or it might not your medication. But if it's early days hang on there a bit and you'll see.

I'm on 50 mg. Been on the medicine for 8 weeks, 4 weeks at 50 mg. I take it for anxiety. It has helped with that but can't sleep without taking something. I take mine in the morning.

I started this medicine because I started out of the blue with anxiety due to depo provera and it progressed to cause me to stop sleeping at night. So my anxiety fuels my insomnia, my insomnia fuels my anxiety. I can't win

I also take it for anxiety around 10 months. I do feel much better. I would say 80 %. I would recommend to take it on the evening 2 hours before go bed. Try it on the weekend and you'll see.

You've been taking it for 10 months and you're still only 80% better?

Physically I'm 90 % better but I only take half of tablet ( 25 mg ). When I said 80 % , mean that sometimes I have panic attacks but it perhaps my hormones. I did try take it afternoon & evening and I was fine. No insomnia. But with my anxiety I have had. Try on the evening . Need more time.

It's hard as she was really young ( 60 ) and been ill for a long time. I was thinking to take the medication for 5 months! I was so scared!!! And my symptoms were horrendous! I might would feel 100 if I would take the 50 mg ... but I figured it out that I'm 6 weeks pregnant so definitely won't take more. How long you dealing with anxiety?

My whole nightmare started on April 4th at 930 am, the day after I got my depo provera shot. I was sitting on my sofa enjoying my coffee like any other day and boom, severe sharp chest pain in the center of my chest and it went down thru both arms. Scared me to death. Went to er, was admitted for possible heart attack. Ran all kinds of tests. Heart came back great but they couldn't determine what caused it. They flat out denied the shot as the culprit but doing my own research and going back and forth thru the events and signs I determined the shot was the culprit this whole time. I'm a officially going to be off the shot the end of this month and I'm hoping my anxiety starts to subside. I have never been on any medication my entire life. I just turned 45 so believe I was not happy about all this. This has been a very traumatic experience for me and I just want my life back and my old self back. I don't want wish this on anyone.

Did you have any bad side effects the first few weeks? I am on day 9 and honestly I don't know how much more I can handle this emotional rollercoaster. I woke up perfectly fine this morning and super happy, then an hour later I felt foggy brained and anxious, then a few hours after that I felt depressed and literally just bawled my eyes out over the phone to my mom because I feel like i'm going crazy.

I did have side effects but nothing too terrible. Mostly headache and diarrhea and tightness in my chest and heightened anxiety at times. I had insomnia when I started due to my anxiety and it did however not clear up since my anxiety has calmed down a lot. So I still struggle with that. My side effects did calm down about two weeks in tho so I will say hang in there. I will also say that from day one of starting I instantly had relief of the doom and gloom feeling I had from my anxiety. That feeling of like my skin was crawling all the time, flu like feeling. Just felt ill all the time til I started. I dealt with the mild side effects. They wasn't too bad compared to the anxiety I was having. But now just want to sleep naturally without taking something. It does get better. Listen to meditations to calm your mind. I listen to them a lot at night and it really does help relax me even tho sometimes I still don't sleep.

Do you still take something for Sleep? Are you still on Zoloft? Wouldn't the zoloft help with sleep. I'm on day 9 with zoloft. I've had insomnia. I take .5 klonopin for sleep but hoping to quit so the zoloft takes over
