I have been taking sertraline 50mg for 17 days with the 15mg of mirtazapine i take at night,had terrible side effects until day 14 of sertraline then they diminished for last couple of days but today anxiety is through the roof after having good couple of days is this normal.

yes lee this is perfectly normal, 17 days is still early but the fact you have had a few good days so soon is a very good indication that the medication is working, you may go through a few more ups and downs till it is fully settled but do not become despondent, eventually the good days will last

Totally normal. For the first couple months or so it'll be like a roller coaster. But you will notice days getting easier, better, and happier more often. You may have a good week, 2 weeks, and have a bad day or so between for a little bit. It just takes time. Stick with it, and try to stay busy, it will get better!
