Sertraline and sex...

Hi everyone!

I am on week 5 on 50mg and it has been going fine, I got all the normal side effects the first couple of weeks and they are moslty gone.  I do feel a bit "meh" and I will start to take 75-100mg in a weeks time if I am feeling like this still.

I am really struggling to get an orgasm! I know this is a common side effect but does it go away eventually? I can have sex although I most if the time do not feel like it, and that is not like me at all.

this is starting to really bother me now and I just wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem, but also if anyone has had it and knows if this is just like this in the beginning?

I hope anyone can help!

I'll be honest with you, the orgasm issue does go away. For me the issue of not really wanting sex never went away. I was lucky enough to have an excellent Fiancee/Wife who stuck it out with me, but it wasn't until I had been off my meds for about 6 months before I finally got my sex drive back.

I was on Sertraline for a little over a year if it helps, and the dead sex drive never cleared up but the orgasm issue did eventually clear up.

Absolutely the same!! I've only been back on it a couple weeks but yeah it's so hard to get to orgasam!!!

I was on it a while back and I don't remember this as a side effect last time so I'm also hoping it will just pass 😊

    Hi,

Yes this sucks- the sex drive loss has not gone away for me, but I have been able to get an orgasm. In the beginning, I couldn’t. I’ve beeb on Zoloft 50mg for about one year now... and I take 100mg the week before my mentstruel cycle (anxiety gets much worse during that time). Then I go back to 50 after it’s over... my husband has also stuck with me through this. it’s annoying.
