Sertraline and sleep.

I used to take half a Sertraline in the morning, and half at night.

Now, I take both halves at night. Could it be making me have trouble sleeping?

Hi Jordan, it can cause sleep problems, so maybe try taking it first thing?

My mom made the switch to night because she thinks that the setraline makes me irritable during the day.

      What do I do?

Well if you value your sleep you need to switch to the morning, as early as possible with food. Also drink lots of water during the day and also taking an antioxidant such as milk thistle should reduce the side effects, irritability being one of them.

Respectfully, you need to tell your mom to deal with it until the drug gets into your system. You being irritable should be the least of her worries if you are not well, I'm sorry.

I take a sleep formula pill if I'm not asleep in 20 minutes.

Should I give myself more time?

She said my sleep problems are in my head.

      Hi Jordan,

Yeah I've taken things that my husband said made me aggressive, maybe go back to your doctor tell him your mum has noticed it makes you irritable.

It's an ssri and there are several different types you can get, I don't know how old you are but from my understanding proactive (fluoxetine) is better for younger people.
