Sertraline and weed, bad reaction.

I have been on antidepressant and antiphyscotic medication for months now, I had been a heavy weed smoker and stopped for 2 months in that time i felt better. I take 100mg of sertraline, and 50mg of loxopine, but I just recently started taking that as I was on 4mg of respiridone before that. However, I started craving weed again and decided to start smoking again.. I was fine for a couple of weeks and then the last time I decided to smoke I smoked 2 bongs and haven't felt the same since. I feel really spaced out, surreal, almost like depersonalization/derealization.

I realize that it probably wasn't the best idea to mix the two, but I had done it in the past with no real problem. At this point I'm just hoping I haven't done any long term damage, and that I will start feeling back to normal soon. It's been 3 days and I still feel terrible, has anyone else ever had this happen and if so how long did it last for?

I'm desperate for some sort of answers, I'm going back to see the doctor on Wednesday but it's driving my anxiety through the roof.

Kayla,  i would think this is just a short set back.  It's hard to live with ths day to day and we get desperate to feel well again.  Don't beat yourself up for that, just move forward.

I am at two months now, first weaning off the paxil and now upping the Zoloft to 100 and I still have anxiety and depression.  I use xanax when I'm panicked.  She wanted me to try ativan but I didn't like it.  Go easy on yourself and we will get by and get better little by little.  At least there is a board like this to come and share our feelings with others who are going through or have gone trough the same thngs.  Hugs, Sue

thanks for your comment, i appreciate it. i'm hoping it's just a temporary set back, but i'm also hoping that the weed didn't cause any long term damage to anything.

and you're right, it's nice to be able to post and get some sort of feedback/support.

I'll talk with you anyday.  I feel like I always have the kook factor going.  That week will not be a set back don't worry.  Forget about it and move on! on

believe me kayla I know what you're going through.  It's like on hour at   a time.  you will  eventually get the right med combo and start to feel better. people who have never had anything like this don't understand.  It's a scarey feeling.  Some days are worse than other.  At lease you're seeing the doc this week.  I too have an appt, I go on Thursday.  I thought I'd be fine by now but now so.  Hang in there.  Sue
