I don't believe it will cause any life threatening reactions. That amount of caffeine can definitely cause an increase in anxiety because caffeine is an "upper". I've been limiting my caffeine intake since it does tend to make my anxiety worse although now that I've been taking the Zoloft (sert) for several months I'm able to drink caffeine here and there with no issues. You are doing the right thing in drinking water to counter balance the caffeine. Strive to drink half your body weight in ounces (example, if you weigh 150 strive to drink 75 ounces of water). Also, your side effects from the Zoloft will most likely start to subside as you get in to week 3 or 4. If they don't, be sure to follow-up with your doctor.

Hi claire  i have heard so many stories about this drug and how they react to it since i joined the forum a few months ago, the reason being the doctor put me on it 50mg for 4 weeks and nothing up it to 100mg, i felt terrible bad head ,cramps, nausea, so i went back down to 50mg and did not feel anything i was not sure what to do, i hated being depressed and having anxiety , but i also have a lot more health issue, one including severe migraines and this drug made it ten times worse, so i decided to come of it but i had to take very strong drugs for my migraine and they have no caffeine in , but get rid of the pain, but the only problem i have is dealing with the depression and anxiety, to be honest i prefer alternative medicine with certain illnesses , to many drugs can mess with boy and mind, but some we need and others we can chose to do without and be kinder to our bodies, herbal teas are great for relaxing, valerian is great for helping you sleep , and yoga is great for mind and body , caffeine like the other lady said is great for a pick me up but no good for relaxing, hope you start feeling better soon x
