I was on 150mg for 7 months then came off Sertraline. I experienced withdrawal so I went back on 50mg. I am now weaning off and down to 25mg.

I have constant shaky feelings, sleep disturbance and tummy issues. I have also had mood problems with bad thoughts.

I know some people on this site have found Sertraline helpful but personally, I think the side effects outweigh the benefits for me. I have found that meditation tapes are helpful plus exercise gets rid of excess energy.

I would be cautious about upping the dose if the meds are not helping. Good luck..

I’m just curious what happened after 7 months to make you get off sertraline?  Did it help at all during that time?

I originally was put on Sertraline because I had insomnia and anxiety. I didn’t feel Sertraline helped with the insomnia and i really didn’t want to be on medication. Since restarting it, I developed diarrhoea and tests cannot find a physical cause so I think Sertraline may have something to do with it.

A lot of people say they get upset stomach with this med. personally I just want to be med free!

So sorry to hear of your experience with Sertraline.  I have been taking 100 mg  for about 3 months and have not had one side effect at all.  I was put on 50gm for depression which wasn't quite hitting the mark and upped them myself to 100gm which is now working well with not one single side effect.  I must be one of the lucky ones.

    Take care.

I have been up and down with sleep, appetite and bizarre thoughts since I started.  However, I have slept for the past three nights and actually had an appetite today. So good and bad days - hopefully the good will outweigh the bad very soon.

My GP wants me to go to 200 mg. I have upped to 150 mg so far.

I was on paroxetine for over 20 years prior to this.

I think your bizarre thoughts might be related to fatigue.  Thoughts are very sticky when tired.  It's certainly the case with me.
