Sertraline causing me to be spaced out

I am on day 3 of 50mg sertraline and I feel very spaced out. I suffer from depersonalisation often but this feels different. Instead of feeling like I’m in a dream, I feel very sensitive to everything and like I’m not actually lying down, eating etc. Does anyone feel anything similar?

Hi Rebecca, this sounds like a side effect of the drug,  when I started Sertraline I took it at 5 pm every evening so when I was at work I felt relatively normal what ever that is ...😂 stick with it give it a few weeks to get in your system x

i only joined this forum yesterday trying to find out about this drug for depression but it if you read as many posts as i have it can become confusing, so many people say different things , i have worked it out that it depends on the person itself, what type of depression if you hve any other illnesses, what other medication your on, what type of person you are, and the mg of the drug , so some start of at 25mg some 50mg, some on a longer time scale than others, and you are the first person to mention depersonalisation, and that is amazing, only the other day i got so fed up with all the different types of depression i got on google and a top specialist whose daughter started suffering from strange feeling, that she could not explain that he came up with an illness DPD  this is depersonalisation disorder , when i read it, it describe al what i was feeling, and it sounds sounds a lot like yours ,so have you be diagnose with DPD i am very interested

Yeah i had the same kinda feelings, im week 3 on 100mg, was 1 week on 50mg, i had similar feelings, felt a bit out of it most of the time, im finding now tho, that's going away, i think it was just my body adjusting to the drug, still feel like that a bit usually a few hours after ive taken it, but nothing like i was to start with, so it should pass. I take mine in the morning and first part of the day a bit spaced out, but by night time im sharp as a button again, im thinking of starting taking it at night, but as i said, that feeling is lessening for me as i progress with the drug so i may just stay on my morning dose for another week before i make any changes.
