11th dose. Had to change from cipralex due to bad reaction day 6.  Bad day today. Mornings are bad anyway but this is terrible today.  Worst day yet. I had hoped things were begining to settle. I know its early days..... Any good experiences out there?

Keep going Ian, I have been on this since Nov 2014 and am feeling fine now. I am on 75mg  and do not really want to increase tablets so have upped excercise, attend CBT and also have shiatsu and massages to help with anxiety. All these things work well together. I have been to a review appt with my doc this morning and she is pleased with how I am doing and has no plans to up the dose as long as I am feeling ok. I am getting married this Saturday and back at the beginning of December we were thinking we may have to postpone the wedding, but here I am looking forward to this weekend!!  smile Side effects of this drug are horrible but will go over time and you will see the benefits.

Thanks Natalie.I've been here before with various meds over the years so know the score really! It's difficult to remember that when having such a bad day though!  As usual I feel fine come the evening.... I don't pretend to understand it. Hopefully tomorrow will see a positive shift.  Glad to hear of your success story and thank you - it's reassuring.  And good luck with the weddingbiggrin.

I was on sertraline 100mg for 2 years and i can honestly say without them i wouldnt be here now. I had extreme anxiety and depression but they helped me through a really bad time. Ive been off them now for 9mths and feel really well still. I didnt feel the effects properly till maybe wk 3 but you need to think positive or they wont work. Good luck with your journey. I hope you start feeling more positive xx

I remember a few words from my doctor and they stuck in my head. He said that there is no magic pill and that i would have to also find strength to pull myself through and also give the tablets time to do the work. I found that strength and i havent looked back since. I know its hard but if you put your mind into a better place and believe in yourself, you may well get there

Thanks Angela.  A lot of posts here are negative so it's good to read a positive one, especially when having such a bad day.  I've been here before over the years so know what happens, the initial ups and downs, but it's difficult to remind yourself when in amongst it. As usual, come the evening i feel fine..... Here's hoping tomorrow is better.

Thank you all for your kind wishes smile I was the same Ian, as I started to feel better it was the evenings that improves first and then the mornings followed x

Great advice Angela. Although we feel at our absolute worst, the tablets alone will not lift us out of the pit of despair. It needs us to find our inner strength - even just a little bit to get us started and back on our feet. Our mental attitude is so important so don't give up fighting. We will have days when we have no energy so just try and allow yourself to rest or let those around you know that they need to give you some extra support & understanding or just cut you some slack. Natalie sounds as if she has found the ideal balance in her life - and love is a bonus too! Congratulations :-)

      Best wishes. xx

Exactly - the tablets help with some of the symptoms but the mental side of things is largely down to us. I still struggle with health anxiety and always will to some degree I expect and I will always have a crippling fear of dying but I am trying not to let these thoughts stay in my head for any longer than a "normal" thinking person would. They are no longer all consuming and I am able to do other things in my life and have also been banned from Google by my doctor! I am not an ecercise person by any means, but I am trying to do other things that will help and I can carry on with as I dont want to be on these tablets for ever. Thank you again for your wishes, only 3 sleeps! smile x
