sertraline day 4

Posted , 6 users are following.

I'm on sertraline 50mg once daily for anxiety and depression. Today is my fourth day and it's hands down the worst I've felt. I've felt nauseous since I started taking them 4 days ago and I keep getting depressive thoughts like 'why me'.. 'im never going to get better' etc. I'm on the verge of tears because of how ill/ fed up I feel. I haven't left the house in 3 days because I can't cope with it. Feel like im not going to get anywhere and can't cope with these physical anxiety symptoms/ sertraline side effects 😔

hi hold in there. day 6 was my worst day but I am now 5 wks 2 days in and feel a lot better. I didn't feel sick but I had no appetite couldn't sleep properly and gp gave me propranolol for the physical affects ie cold symptoms shaking and heart palps. These have really helped and

the thoughts of worry have also lessened. I know 5 wks seems a way off but I was where you are a short while ago. It should get better ☺

Sorry to hear you are feeling like this sad day 5 was the worst for me, felt like I couldn't cope any longer but it got a bit better, I just started taking 50mg 3 days ago and feel pretty rubbish again, hoping it passes quick x

I'm on sertraline 50mg day 5 for similar things and due to carry on until day 10 before upping to 100mg. After about 6-8 hours on day one I thought WOW! this stuff is great. i was as calm as anything and felt back to normal. Day 2 was a massive disappointment after that and if anything it's worse on day 5. I feel nauseus and practically have to force feed myself with no appetite at all. I think I've gone OTT and am tempted to drop off until I can see the doc again which won't be until next friday I've just found out.

    Hi there

Stick with it, this is the first reply i have very sent, I have been on the Meds for quite a few months now, when i first started them i was in a very low place i couldnt leave the house except when i had to for work ex, I just wanted to be left alone and could of stayed in bed all day if i was able, it was starting to affect my health i was losing weight and always seemed to have an upset tummy. Things i used to love i could not face any more, things just felt like they where to hard or not worth the effort. Now this is not a overnight miricle drug but it take time to get working in your system, I remember reading somewhere when i was at my lowest point that your anxiety was like a murky pond and the drugs needed time to clear this pond until it was clear, Now dont get me wrong i still have bad days put more good than bad i am back playing sport and going out but this took time, If i remember at the start i felt great at first and then went down for a day or so it seems it take time to level out but you have to stick with it the sickness will pass. i hope this is of some help to you i know where you are coming from it will get better.
