Sertraline diarrhoea- any recommendations on alternative

Posted , 3 users are following.

I switched to Sertraline and stuck with it but after 3 months of terrible diarrhoea , that was getting worse I had to stop. I'd really love to hear from anyone who had the same problem and found s good alternative antidepressants. I was on citalopram for years but it made me too fuzzy headed. Back on it temporarily but really need another option.

Hi! I've been on 50mg of Sertraline for 6 weeks and for the first 3 weeks I had an upset tummy. It went away but it's come back over the last few days! I don't know what to do as it's making me panic! I think I will phone the GP tomorrow and see of I can get an appointment.

I hope you find a medication that suits you a bit better xx

Thank you. Definitely talk to your gp, you might be able to get referral. I did but they couldn't see me for 4 months, sadly. Hope you feel better soon

Thanks xx I spoke to a GP and she said if it's no better next week I have to do a stool sample. Can I ask if the diarrhoea you had was all the time or did it come and go? I'm wondering if it's the Sertraline causing mine. I will ask if there is something else I could take that might suit me better. Did you get tummy ache too?
