Hi all, for nearly 3yrs I was on sertraline, at the beginning it was awful. Dizziness, lack of interest, mood swings tired loss of appetite throwing up headaches and so on. I started at 25mg till we found the right dosage for me and that was 150mg. At this stage I was ok no anxiety, no panic attacks no fear no suicidal thoughts none of what I felt before. All of that was gone. I was me again. I felt good. When I started I was 58kg went down to 42kg had to wear kids cloths. Once I found the right dosage and started feeling good again I had everything back including my weight. Last year because I was feeling good I decided to stop it. My Gp told me it was too soon but I heard so much about the tablets I just wanted to stop them.
After a few wks I realised was to soon and asked my Gp to put me back on them. So I'm back on them and this time I went up very quickly. I started straight at 50mg then 100 then 150 and back to 200mg. I promise you it's worth going through all this side effects because after you will feel good again. This is my positive story to all of you. I really really hope it works for all of you as it did for me. Any questions please ask I will answer. Best of luck to all of you stay strong fight don't give up your friend ILDA xxx

A week ago I started 12.5 mg (1/2 of the 25 mg dose) of zoloft to work my way up to 25 mg. I am VERY sensitive to medication. The first week has been difficult with digestive problems (to put it lightly), feeling spacey, weird facial numbness, drowsiness later in the day, occasional mild panic attacks (Klonopin helps), lack of appetite, and jitteriness. I've lost a lot of bloat and water weight. But I'm eating better now. And oh my gosh am I productive! I take more pride in my home. My OCD and ADD are so much better. I sleep like a rock, too. I think anxiety kept me up, I never slept well before. My social anxiety is better. I feel more confident and I walk taller and smile more. I haven't spiraled into any negative thoughts or said negative things about myself (self doubt, etc).
Taking Zoloft, coupled with exercise and a proper diet, my life seems to be changing for the better. 👍🏻

I just started Sertraline 50mg along with Clonazepam 0.5 mg. I was originally on Celexa and Clonazepam but it stopped working and my panic attacks came back full force. My doc tried me on effexor before Sertraline but I had to stop due to a reaction. I started crying all the time on effexor and I'm still doing it on Sertraline. I'm trying to remain positive since I just started 2 days ago. Today I cried a lot, and felt like I couldn't function which gave me more anxiety. Night time is the worst for me. I can't sleep at all.
How long did it take for you to adjust to the Sertraline and start feeling better?

I got off Effexor after being on it for 3 years and for one week I was taking 75mg of Effexor and 50 mg of sertraline then 37.5 Effexor and 50 mg Zoloft then the second week 75mg of Zoloft and then two weeks at 100 mg sertraline and then two weeks at 150 and now it's been two days at 200mg and I'm still having anxiety and crying spells. The OCD has calmed and I have been more open to going out and to the gym but I feel Down a bit. Is there something wrong?! I'm scared to have to switch

I was on Effexor for three years and just switched to Zoloft. I started at 50 mg and 37.5 mg of Effexor and then 1week at 75 mg of sertraline then 2weeks at 100mg and still didn't feel great so they upped me to 150mg for two weeks and now I'm on day 2 of 200 mg and I still feel some anxiety and crying spells. The intrusive thoughts have calmed but they still creep in. How long should I give this?! I'm getting so nervous and scared it's not working.

Thanks I'm 34 so it's nice to hear from someone a bit younger since most have been in their 50s. I'm just afraid it's not going to work. Also, have you tried having sex on these?! I heard it's impossible to have an orgasm?!

Hi, this is really reassuring to read! But, I was started on 50mg sertraline for a few months, but when I was upped to 100mg a couple months ago, I began getting bad thoughts, self harm and depression. I started on the medication for panic disorder, I've never really had these symptoms before. Is it the sertraline? I don't know what to do x

I began sertraline 50mg for a week then 100mg for the last 7 weeks. I was suffering from severe anxiety constant crying and feeling overwhelmed with everything. The drug worked well fir me and i though all was goin well until yesterday when I went downhill, anxiety and crying constantly over the slightest thing. Has anyone else experienced setbacks? Is it normal to have these?
Many thanks
Have previously been on citilopram which worked well

Dear Katyf,
thank you for replying. It's nice to know that I'm not alone and very reassuring. I'm waiting for a call back from my doc and will take it from there. I've had anxiety In the past but it seems a lot worse this time round. I've never previously had the bouts of crying.
Thanks tc

Aww,I really feel for you it's horrible but hopefully they will get the right dose,I found being on here very helpful .....I have recently split from my husband and thought I might get down but thankfully haven't but think that's because of the increase xx
