Sertraline dosage increase help

Posted , 3 users are following.

hello, first time poster here.

I've been on sertraline 50mg for around 3 years but after contracting covid over Christmas I became very down and the doctor i increased my dose to 75mg.

Its been just over 2 weeks and im still struggling with negative thoughts, tension headaches, dizziness and brainfog/ fuzzy head. i guess im just looking for some reassurance that this is normal when increasing dose and things will get better. ive really been struggling and cant afford to be off work much longer, so was hoping for some positive words/expediences and that the side effects will soon settle.

thanks Nicole, i really appreciate your response. its been such a tense, worrying time and its the lightheadedness and fuzzy head i'm really struggling with. This is day 9 on 75mg and the side effects are awful, i don't remember it being this bad when i started on 50mg, though it probably was. im worrying my family, my work want me back as ive been off since christmas and im just at a loss. Hopefully itll soon taper out. Glad to hear youre doing well on yours.

sometimes it takes a few (2) weeks for the side affects to subside! i struggled with dizzy and light headedness too, it will get better one day youll wake up and it will be gone !

could i just ask, is your dizziness/lightheadedness there all the time or when you move your head?

mine seems to come on looking up and down and moving around after being sat down a while. its not as bad actually sat still. i only ask as i had an ear infection after covid around chistmas time so unsure if its from that, anxiety or the sertraline. definitely seems worse since my dose was increased though.

hi cheryl, yes ive been getting awful headaches in the centre of my forehead, tension headaches i suppose, that feel like they're pressing in tight. its awful. The lightheadedness is troubling me most, but also dealing with headaches, increased anxiety, churning stomach and shakes too, hopefully it'll settle down for both of us soon x

      hi Cheryl,

still feeling very tired and groggy and the dizziness is still there too. I'm hoping its all going to settle down soon. the insomnia is awful as well and when you wake up tired the rest of the day is a battle. ive noticed an increase in morning anxiety the last few mornings - i wake up tense and stomach churning and it stays with me most of the day. its awful.

how are you today? any better? X

my dizziness was pretty bad in the beginning, but its practically gone now! that being said if your ear infection wasnt completely healed it could be filling up again!. also have you ever had your eyes checked?
