sertraline for nine weeks and feeling flat

Hi I started sertraline nine weeks ago. 3,weeks on 50 mg, 2 on 75, 1 or two on 87.5 and just over two weeks on 100mg. I increased gradually to limit side effects.  Last week I thougt I was getting there but this week I feel flat. I am nowhere near as bad as I was so I do feel better. I'm just not where I want to be. I wonder is the dose right? Should I have increased? Do I need to give it more time or option three: do I need to increase? Thanks guys :-)

Hi chris,  my dr said each increase needs to be given 4 weeks for full effect so I would probably wait it out for another couple of weeks.

I have read that people have a really flat week after feeling much better so hopefully that's what's happening to you and next week will be better.

Compared to 4 weeks ago heaps better I still have a few things lingering like early waking and a bit tense but mentally much better so I know the side effects will drop off ... I have been in this before about 3 years ago and after 8-10 weeks I was completely back to normal sleeping ... Sex lol .. Everything x

Oh also Chris I find each increase takes you right back for a few weeks I have only ever increased by 25 but took me three weeks or so to settle on new dose ..

Never more than 50mg i kept a diary and went back to dr after 3 weeks saying I was no better and she told me to double .. I never did and came good in that next week never looked back stayed on for 6 mths and tapered off no problems..

Recent stress and work related things got too much for me and I broke sad hence going back on .  To be honest I regret even going to 75 as I really think you need to give them time to do their thing but at the end of the day you can always reduce down the track anyway.
