Get off of it as soon as you can. Try something else.

Yes. 3x's!! Horrible each time. Severe diaherra. Muscle pain, like flu. Liver enzymes went up Fr normal. Eye twitching. Itching. Gas. Very agitated an at end got more depression. Lexapro I also took for 3 months . It made me sleepy all time an gained a lot of wt in short period. Now thinking of Cymbalta. Not sure. If got anxiety an depression. If interrupting your life I say stop. Taper off though.

Hi I was on Sertraline for over 4 months, increased them to 150, was so fed up feeling no better that i gave up on them and told doc couldn'tput up with anymore side effects, so gradually came off and went on Venlafaxine, and fingers crossed they are working well. I was willing to give sSertraline a chance but was fed up with doc saying give them longer but iI felt I was getting no where.

Have a word with doc and discuss if you could perhaps change to something else

Thanks for reply did u taper off sertraline? Did u go straight on the other med ?

I was on 150 then started taking venlafaxine 37.5 twice a day and at same time dropped to 100 of Sertraline for 10 days then increased Ven to 75 twice a day and dropped sSertraline to 50. After about 2 weeks cut them out completely. I didn't get any side effects initially with the Ven but when increased I got a llittle anxiety and have now gone back to original dosage of 75 a day and its working really well.

Everyone's different with meds but I was fed up of giving Sertraline chance after chance to work so one day I thought II've got to make a decision and try something else.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Don

am currently tapering off sertraline, this is my second attempt. The first time I followed GP advice and cut down from 50-25mg but had vivid nightmares and couldn't cope. This time after reading lots of info on this drug I have been cutting down by 25% over months and the withdrawals are much less. Am now on 25mg and will halve this amount for a couple of months.

    good luck to you

      Hi Thanks for advice

Why r u coming off sertraline?

      Me again

      Do u have negative thoughts?

Coming off because I have been diagnosed with dystonia and now have to take clonazepam, a muscle relaxant and another drug propranolol to control tremor. Dystonia causes anxiety but I didn't know that 18 mths ago when I started on sertraline I just thought I was anxious. I also take migraine medication plus The other two drugs are for life so I wanted to reduce the only drug I take that I have any control over.

I don't know how I will be when I finally come off it altogether I only know anxiety causes worsens dystonia symptoms so it's a viscous circle but we'll see.

yes I have negative thoughts and a whole range of other symptoms, I guess it's just adapting and coping with it all the best I can.
