Sertraline - Headaches

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hello all... just curious to know peoples experiences / coping techniques in relation to headaches while starting Sertraline??

From the start this seems to be one of my more recurring side effects, but I have days were I dont get them so im not too worried and accept it as all part of the process.

For me its not painful... but just more dull and annoying (like a rubber band applying pressure around my head) and once it starts It seems to linger for a few hours regardless of taking painkillers or water to eliminate dehydration...

Ive read this seems to be quite a common side effect amongst us - just curious to see anyone has found any helpful tips with this side effect or at least a duration end goal to when they stop??

Any advice welcome & appreciated 🌹

    Hi Rose,

Unfortunately, I don't really have any input about the headaches, but wanted to see how you're doing so far. Are you starting to see any benefits?

Hello Kim, thanks for checking up

on me... lol was kind of hoping you would be following my journey so it would help to give you abit of courage / confidence & reassurance to start yours when your ready... how are you, I hope your well.

Well after the weekend, when my mood was on the floor... It just seemed to turn around and I actually feel like Im starting to see benefits, the last 2days have been pretty hopeful in relation to the previous 3weeks.

My mood has lifed, my anxiety all though still there, is at a lower level and Im just less interested in it...  (I know this might not last, and no doubt experience more side effects being so early in my journey) but it has gave me the boost I needed to hang in there.

These headaches are annoying lol, but I just tend to try and ride them out... hopefully these soon will pass in time (fingers crossed) 🌹

It sounds like you're heading in the right direction. Slow and steady seems to be the best way to go. The down days, and headaches are better than heightened anxiety, in my opinion.

I'm currently hanging on by a thread, and using Xanax to help. I have a sinus infection that's affecting my left ear, and the antibiotic I was given has horrible side effects. Of course one of the side effects is anxiety, along with insomnia, increased heart rate, and so on. It has caused internal tremors in my legs as well, so I stopped taking it. Now it's just a matter of flushing it from my system. Oh, the joys of medication! lol
