Sertraline issues

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have been on various ADs for many years,

I had bad patch early this year, and the Dr swopped Citalopram with 50mg Sertraline.. I have used these before and were good for me

However, this time round, it made things a lot worse, for 3 weeks. I went back to the Dr who upped my dosage to 100mg. I have been on this for a week now an the anxiety, light-headiness and low moods are nearly unbearable.

Is this expected when upping the dosage?

I swapped from Fluoxetine 60mg to Venlafaxine a few months back and from that and past experiences the swap is always a bumpy ride. Took me a good 2 months to start settling back down and now nearly a year later my dosage is at 300mg.

Sometimes I was offered diazepam etc during the early stages just to get me through the worst days. I know that brain fog, clammy skin, confused feeling too well. It will get easier but I'd definitely ask the doctor for something short term to make the transition more bearable.
