hi, yes you could stop right away if you wish; you have only taken one tablet so you wouldn't have days of withdrawal symptons

ps. it was the other way around for me; i lost interest in things like music, movies, people, life, everything.. so i started on sertraline (50mg for one week, and then up to 100mg....    and then fast-forward a few months and i'm ok again now and back to my 'normal' self biggrin

hi again, yes im still on sertraline as it is working well for me, i'm happy to take it forever if i need to (i will only stop taking it if it stops working)

perhaps you could ask your doctor for a fast acting benzo type drug such as xanax, u can use that for when you are feeling particularly bad and want fast relief (it would be something to just chill you out during those tough moments)

Hi...I am happy about you! Now I have to tell you it's my third day after I took one pill. I am so happy that I did not took the second pill. After I took the first pill and the next day it felt like my life is lifeless and I did not smile and I was unhappy and I stopped watching my favorite TV shows and now it's been 3 days since I stopped taking Sertraline. I think I am going to see a therapist for OCD. I think medications make your brain crazy. I also started hating my life. I hope this medicine works out for you

hey robin, i think for many of us, we hit total rock bottom and are really at the lowest point, so we then try antidepressants to help us climb out of that pit (because we have nothing left to lose) .. so for many of us, we start to take antidepressants, and feel bad with side effects, but keep going because we are told that people who start on antidepressants will often 'feel worse before they feel better'.. and then for many of us, this turns out to be true and we do come out of the other side, and the antidepressants help us to move forwards again with life, and enjoy things, and feel like our old, 'normal' selves

it sounds like you want to try some other alternatives, because you have other options to explore, and that's good, and i'm sure u will find something other than antidepressants to help with your OCD    -  best of luck
