Sertraline merry go round

Hi guys I am new to the forum. I have been on Sertraline for the past year after being on Citalopram for 12 years.I am currently taking 200mg for anxiety and terrible intrusive thoughts. The thoughts get so bad that each time I get one it feels like a piece of me is dying each time. Anyway , I was doing absolutely fine on the 200mg Sertraline until about 4 weeks ago. About 6 weeks ago I was prescribed Ranbaxy Sertraline (a brand I had never had before ) and then 2 weeks into that prescription my anxiety started to return with a vengeance and the intrusive thoughts. I just wondered if any of you had ever experienced this brand as I seem to have been fine on the others such as Accord and Crescent Pharma LTD. I feel as though I am going crazy and my head is going to explode.I am a dad to 3 young girls and I love them dearly , I just feel as though I am missing out on so much with them.Btw I am getting marries in one weeks time. Thanks guys.

Go back to your doctor and ask him to put it on your prescription for the ones that you usually have, I went to my prescribed pharmacy and made them put it in my notes because they are generics and I didn’t want to keep changing brands.  Because they are generics of sertraline they have different bulk ingredients even though they have the same main ingredients. Good luck and don’t loose hope x

It’s probably just the fillers, some companies use different fillers but the sertraline remains the same, I also had this problem but the side effects only lasted a few days and weren’t major at all! Good luck God bless
