I haven't done this but would like to know how you go.

I started on 50mg and after 5 days felt so unwell I stopped.

Thinking of starting 25mg and doing what you are thinking of.

    Any side effects on 25mg?

25 mg made me feel detatched slightly, a but paranoid & overthinking an i have it early in morning not at night, they certanly wake u up, not as bad as i thought i can say, so they are in my system so i feel i can step up to 50 mg, maybe 75 in 2 weeks if 50mg goes well, good luck

from my own experience i wouldnt try and up the dose too quick as sometimes you may feel its working then the following week bang you can hit a brick wall, id stay on 50mg for a good few weeks before upping it

ive been taking 50mg for nearly 4 weeks now

after the first 2 weeks i felt good then the side effects hit me again at the end of week 3 and ive still got them now (feeling detached, over anxious, and a bloody stinking headache which i never normally suffer from) just be aware boombap

im hoping hoping they start to better my mood soon, i gather from many forums that waiting 8 weeks on the same dose is the way forward with these and then increasing as necessary

      hope this helps

id say 50mg is low enough to start on so once your up to 50mg stay on that for 8 weeks

and i wouldnt increase it unless needed, it takes most 4-8 weeks to feel the true benefit so your at such an early stage, im not a doctor but im getting this info from my own personal experience, and from what a private psychiatrist said to me, also it correlates to alot of what i read on these forums

      good luck

So you find just half tablet keeps things under control?

      Thats good!

yeah- apparently 50 is the minimum medical dose but 25 keeps me ticking along nicely these days. just have to believe in it and stick with it for a couple of months. takes a while to work and things to settle down.

today my body is aching all over, like prickly heat and my head throbing. i dont no if it related to sertraline side effects or just the flu coming on,

Hi, I moved from 25 to 50 mg in a week and didn't feel anything extreme, if that helps. I would do the same as you, just increase by 25 mg with at least afew weeks in between. I noticed the doctors sometimes ask you to increase too soon (my GP told me to go to 100mg after only a week of being on 50mg).
