Hi Lee and yes this med is not suitable for us all and the side effects can make you feel worse than ever I was on it for 5+ weeks at 50mg and tbh wish I never started it been off it now 2+ weeks and still feel a dam site worse than I have ever before :0(. Best thing to see you doc and say it`s not working for you and maybe try a different med as some apparently do work cheers Mark

i found the same. go back to Doctor or Mental Health Practicianer.

I got change to Venlafaxine .

Feeling better after about a month.

    I started it 23rd Sept.

Have odd days but on the whole a lot better.

    Good Luck.

Sometimes need to try several to get the right one. Iv had several before this one.

    include some Psychotherapy as well.

I started on 25 mg of Sertraline. It did help me. My doctor told me it was a very low dose. After 6 weeks he upped me to 50 mg. Side effects were terrible. I stayed on it for 10 days and couldn't take it. Awful ringing in my ears, heart palpitations, waking up at night sweating even though the temperature is cool. Feeling very depressed during the time on the 50 mg. Also bad headaches on and off. I went back to the 25 mg and the edge wore off. The first couple of nights it was difficult to sleep - and I felt as if things were crawling on me - which they weren't. And the feeling of withdrawal. I can tolerate the 25 mg better, but still feel the depression. I have an appointment with my PC doc next week. I will ask him what he thinks and if there might be something else he would recommend. I just can't seem to handle the 50 mg Sertraline. Anyone else tried anything better?
