sertraline not working anymore

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have been taking sertraline for 7years for panic disorder. The last month it seems not to be working. The anxiety is horrible. My doctor said raise to 100 to 150. Has anyone had this happen? Does anyone think that upping the dose will work? Or I will have to go on something new. Scares me because me and sertraline are like the best of friends.

Just a suggestion, but if was me, I'd go for upping the dose. You've been at that dose for quite awhile. If the doctor suggested it why not give it a go. You have nothing to lose. I wish you luck and hope it works.

Hi Tony, sorry to hear you are not feeling the best. I agree with Janice there an have been in the same position myself many times over 8 years. One thing I would check first is that you are getting the same brand every time. I was getting a specific brand f

Whoops....too many ads on this thing lol!!

Sorry I was saying to make sure you get the same brand every time. I had been for years and all of a sudden the pharmacist changed, although still Sertraline not the same brand. I was told to specifically request LUSTRAL and I found that I was back on track in a matter of days, whereas the generic brand nearly sent me over the edge. I had gone up to 200 on the generic and was able to come back down to 150 and then 100 of the LUSTRAL.

Try and stay as positive as you can, take all the good things in your life and focus on them as much as possible....plenty of fresh air and keep in touch with GOOD friends!! Just as a side note, I have been off ALL medication for 3 months now and I am starting to actually feel emotions again for the first time in years!!

God bless and I hope you will be on your own road to recovery someday soon!
