Sertraline problems fed up dizzy. Side effects horrible

Okay so I have many mental health conditions, schizophrenia (although after 12 years they're considering that i may have dissociative identity disorder instead which is rare), ocd, health anxieties and I'm on the spectrum asd.

I'm on mirtazepine which doesn't do much to be honest.

I take propranolol to help slow my racing heart

diazepam as it helps slow down my mind

zopiclone for sleep which works well

quitiapine which I hate and is not needed as they now think I'm not schizophrenic and have dissociative identity disorder.

sertraline 150mg.

Now here's the problem. Sertraline was given to me to control compulsive behaviour and my health anxieties

put it this way I call the doctors at least twice a week and send them frequent emails, where I try and diagnose myself with a new physical illness. Its very obsessive. it controls my life as every day I feel something new. for example I assumed I had a b vitamin deficiency so over did b vitamins. not that it caused me any harm. But I get an idea in my head and it becomes real. I've gone from liver problems, MS, parkinsonism, bowel cancer, brain tumours the lot. you name it I've created it in my head and experience it.

Getting to the point I feel sertraline has made me worse because of the side effects of Sertraline.

I'll list the side effects I get from Sertraline.

  1. heart flutters like skipping a beat
  2. muscle weakness literally find walking hard
  3. dizzy all the time apart from when I first wake
  4. feeling like I'm trying to control my body from the outside
  5. emotional bluntness. I don't feel anything
  6. tinnitus
  7. sweating this started after starting sertraline
  8. tremor After starting sertraline
  9. pins and needles
  10. numbness that wakes me up
  11. constipation
  12. vision problems floaters
  13. facial flushing like I can't control my core temperature this started after starting sertraline
  14. headaches
  15. the dizziness, yes I mention it again as it starts after my morning dose and its crippling
  16. weight loss
  17. fatigue despite sleeping for 8 hours solid

18 Tremor legs and arms internal tremor

So as you can see I suffer from a range of side effects from Sertraline and they want me to go up another 50mg to take me to 200mg.

I'm not sure I can handle all these side effects they don't seem to be improving. With my mental health conditions I find these side effects more detrimental than beneficial as it causes my mind to wander every day in respects that I have some underlying health condition. I'm obsessed with death but not in the sense that I want to die but the opposite, I fear death and want to live a long life.

This drug just makes my anxiety far worse.

has anyone out there felt like this on it?

Even as I sit and type now I can feel the internal shaking.

last week I felt like I had a cold so started checking my lymph nodes. I did it so much low and behold I managed to make one come up from poking it repeatedly.

Surely there must be another med that would work better for these constant health anxieties and compulsive behaviours. the constant feeling of being drugged isn't nice at all. its not a quality of life id have imagined I'd have as an adult.

I've been on prozac which didn't work for me.

I just feel with my mental health conditions there is no treatment for me. so I'm just being drugged for the sake of trying to alleviate some symptoms associated with anxiety. particularly the health anxiety but its counter productive when the sertraline causes so many side effects

sorry for the long post but if anyone has any advice that would be great. I've been on it since Dec 2020

I have had some of the same side effects you have had and I also suffer from health anxiety. I jus went up to 100mg of zoloft a couple weeks ago and just the other day I noticed my vision was blurry then I started feeling dizzy and jittery. they say these side effects will go away so we jus have to try to hang in there. good luck
