Sertraline side effects and how to stop it after 6 weeks.

DISCLAIMER, I know many people who have taken Sertraline (Zoloft), and did well. This is not meant to scare anyone off, this was my wife's experience on it. She was being treated for bulimia/binge eating and social anxiety.

If you start this or any medication, ask your physician lots of questions, do not take medical decisions on your own, and have at least one support person incase you need help. If you feel any worrying symptoms seek emergency care.

My wife started taking sertraline (zoloft) 6 weeks ago.

She started on 25mg, then went up to 50mg, and finally to 100mg,

After the jump to 100mg, she started experiencing pretty severe diarrhea and her psychiatrist from Los Angeles said he did not think it was from the medication...

Just this last Monday night before sleeping her leg flexed once uncontrollably, and then her arm kind of flew up in air, and her stomach flexed.

Next day, at dinner her butt muscles flexed so she jumped up.

Wednesday she had small muscle twitches all over her body, so I spoke to a neurologist who recommended she cut the dose in half.

Friday the symptoms started to get a little better, now she only feels shivers, and the frequency today have continued decreasing.

Blood labs revealed borderline low sodium, low magnesium, and high vitamin D (even tho its worth mentioning that she is not taking Vitamin D supplements...

ANYWAYS,

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

And does anyone have experience with the "tapper-off" process after 6 weeks on similar dosage to hers?

Many thanks, stay safe, and God bless.
