Sertraline side effects second time

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi I'm new to this, but I started taking 50mg sertraline last year and came off them in June as felt like 'old me' again, unfortunately my doc has recommended restarting my tablets. I'm scared to start again as had horrible side effects first time, and concerned I will get them again.

Hi Michelle...just tell yourself that this is how you feel for now, not forever.  It will pass.  X

I know what your saying but when your feeling low it's hard to see things logic. I'm trying so hard but unfortunately it seems to be beating me at the moment. Hopefully it won't last for too long, fingers crossed.

I know it is difficult. ..even though  I know that the reason I feel low is because of the depression, it doesn't help me overcome the feelings. Logic says it should but I find it impossible...I really do hope you start feeling better soon x

Its so hard for people to understand, they think by saying keep your chin up helps but it doesn't. You really do find out who your true friends are in these circumstances. The people who you thought would be there for you, aren't and that's hard. Started new meds today, I'm hoping they can help. Fingers crossed. Hope your ok. X

I know the side effects are not always nice but if makes you function better then it has to be worth it. If they make you tired then sleep when ever you can it may help. Hope you start to feel better soon. X

So it's been just over a week since I started back on sertraline, side effects only lasted 3 days and very mild. Been feeling loads better, until today all of a sudden I feel like I'm back to square one again with my anxiety, I can cope with the mental effects but am struggling with the more physical effects! My mind starts thinking all sorts and my anxiety is heightened.
