Sertraline some positive feedback and inspiration please

I’m on my 3rd week of 50mgs and at that low point and wondered if anyone could give me some inspiration to keep going as I know that is what I need to do.I have a wonderful family no money worries and just want to be myself as I am normally a person full of energy and fun!.

I have been on sertraline before and it took 8 weeks at 50mg to kick in and I felt great!

Know I can get there just need some inspiration, thank you 🙏??

Your doing fine, if it worked before for you keep in mind it will most likely work again! Yeah the 2nd and 3rd week on 50mg sucked for me! I’m sure I had every side effect going, but after about my 4-5 week the side effects had almost went away, then by my 8th-or 9th week I started feeling so much better but not quite where I needed to be. So now I’m on 100mg a day and feeling like a new person! Anxiety is at this point almost non existent!! So glad I didn’t quit early on. Hope this helped a bit good luck and God bless!!

    Hello Marconi,

    4 words for you

    YOU CAN DO IT.

You already know what to expect the side affects , feeling worse before better. I started on 50, first antidepressant that i have ever taken. I am now on 100. I am so thankful for this med. I do have stomach issues but as long as my anxiety is under control ,I m happy. Can I ask why you stopped the first time. Hang in there, you know the end results

      Hi Brenda53218

I stopped because I felt so much better after taking 50mg for 9 months then weaning off in 12.5 mgs for 3 months

Unfortunately we lost my mother in law 2 months ago and both my parents have been in hospital at the same time , this combined with the normal stresses of life brought my anxiety back and I recognised the signs e.g. getting angry quickly, small tasks perceived as massive and withdrawal from social events.

Upon reflection I have experienced this a lot during my life ( I’m 50 now) and have tried everything ADs were my last resort and it was my wonderful husband that encouraged me to listen, I felt so low but battled on with support from my GP

I accept now I may need these all my life even if its just 25mg a day.

These forums have helped so much and this is the first time I’ve ever posted.

Thank you for your kind words it means a lot x
