Sertraline - up and down with the doseage!

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi I have been on Sertraline for a while now and things have been going ok.

On my last visit to my GP he said that seeing as things were going well, I should reduce my dosage. He told me to alternate taking 25mg less every other day for a week and then to stick on the lower dosage.

For the first few days I felt fine, then noticed the anxiety coming back. I stuck it out for a week and decided I was going to go back to my normal dosage.

Since going back to my normal dosage, I still don't feel like I am back to where I was before this dosage reduction started.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

I was on 100 mg ZOLOFT until last year March/April 2019. Feeling good so my physciatrist decided to drop it to 75 mg and later to 50 mg. Was ok till October. Anxiety creeped in.

October my doctor has upped it to 75, 100, 125 and 4 days ago to 150 mg and I am still struggling.

A few okay days but anxiety is still there.

Have been on Zoloft for over 4 years.

Maybe we reduced the dose too early.

I am sure it WILL work. But what a pain!

Hope you have better luck and get back normal sooner.

Thanks Sharyan - feeling a bit better today so hopefully it will continue.

I wish the GP's would leave the dose alone - this is the second time I have tried to lower the dose and every time the anxiety comes back.

I hope you feel better soon too x

My GP doest have a clue about antidepressants. She recommended to lower my dose after 3 weeks on 100mg because I have side effects, it is obviously not an option ad I spent 12 weeks on 50mg and I was still feeling awful, and 3 weeks is surely not enough time to decide if it will work or not. So Ive been trying to find a psychiatrist and just ignore the GP. Ive seen on google reviews they sent home 4 times somebody with typical symptoms of a cancer, and later turned put he had a cancer indeed. What sort of doctors are they???
