Sertraline - What should I expect

Posted , 1 user is following.

I've struggled with my mental health for a few years but recent personal events (amplified by COVID) have meant i've now started taking sertraline (25mg for the past week) but now my gp has increased the dosage to 50mg, and honestly i'm not sure what to expect.

I've experienced a few of the listed side effects but now for some reason i feel more anxious then i did before. I see this treatment (along with talking therapy) as a long term way to control my mental health but would like any advice on what i should expect (or not) from the sertraline.

same thing happened to me, personally they did not agree with me and after a few weeks my anxiety was so bad that i come off them. ring your doctor and talk to them about your concerns. they do say it takes around 4-6 weeks to work. i am so sensitive to meds and i think they just wasnt the ones for me as i was on mirtazapine before and i believe i was withdrawing from the mirtazapine whilst being on sertraline x
