Hi Caroline. I have been taking Sertraline for almost 5 years now. It was a struggle thats for sure when I first started on it. It took over 12 weeks to take any significant effect then by 4 months I was well on the way to recovery. I settled on 75mg. I also cut out caffeine and thought a lot about diet...lots of fresh fruit/veg. I also took a strong B vitamin supplement and Fish oils. Regular exercise, meditatio, yoga. Thinking positive thoughts. I also don't drink alcohol. This is just my story but I have read that each time you change a dose, the 'start up effects' begin again. I stayed on this site a lot and kept reading positive reviews on the medication on other sites too. This stuff does work.

Thank you for your comment. It is very helpful to me. Now, I know I should wait longer than 12 weeks to feel full recovery. I am taking antidepressant Duloxetine for 11 weeks at a maximum dose for me.

Let us know how you are doing Caroline. We re all here for you. I also write a daily gratitude list to orientate my thinking towards positive. For example I'm grateful for this group, my home, my job, my car, my bed, that when I turn on a tap I get water, nature, animals, sunshine. When I really try to eek out as much positivity as possible from each thing it really helps x
