Sertraline with amitriptyline

I have been on Sertraline 50 mg for over 4 weeks, I am restless, out of control during the day, unable function normally, doc up to 100mg and 10 mg of Amitriptyline to take at night.

Any comments about this combination will be appreciated. As I am scared of putting more chemicals into my body.

    These meds make you feel worse before better unfortunately. Side effects don't help either.

    Hi with sertraline is completely normal. I was on 50mg just 2 wks and went up to 75mg for 3 days and them up to 100mg. About amitrityline is good as well but for me it made me put a lot of weight on. Regards Ilda

      Hi ilda. Thanks for your reply, I lost around 4.5k in a month, that is the only good thing. But the way I'm feeling now.... I would consider getting plump again and happy. Then I would go on a diet...

    Hi the symptoms do ease but it does take realistically about 6 weeks to feel the benefit.

    I was on them for about 18 months and then stupidly went cold turkey and stopped taking them in Jan this year.

    Now having to go through the process all over again because started having anxiety attacks again. But I know the side effects pass.

      We are in the same boat then:'(. I took them for nearly 3yrs. And stopped them. So had to start all over again. Hope all goes well xxx

      Hi Destine. This is my third time, and I know Sertraline works, I am impatient I know, but the mornings are murder, with this constant feeling of despair, not being able to do my normal things, and waiting for the evening to feel human again, going to bed early because I am exhausted of fighting. I do Reiki, meditation, hypnosys, and mindfullness to speed it along. I know is beginning to kick off, but is sooo slooowwww!

      Amitriptyline seems to ease a bit the restleness, I just started 100mg of Sertraline as 50 mg didn't shift the moods, concentration and anxiety.

      My doctor add sertraline 25 mg to my elavil 40 mg 10 days ago i fill so bad all day so I can not taking sertraline

    Hi I'm on both these meds and a lot more it took 6 weeks for me to start feeling BETTER now I'm on so many meds that I'm starting to feel better. At first it was like i couldn't slow my thoughts down.

    My mind was racing all day and night I was scared of myself I started forgetting a lot my long term memory was fine but I couldn't remember what I had done two minutes after I did it so I downloaded one of those diaries and I wrote everything I did down until the meds started to work now I'm a lot better so with that said try that and give the meds a little more time. I hope this help u.
