sertraline withdrawal,im all over the place

hi all ive been reading some of your posts,i am 2 weeks off sertraline 100mg,and am not coping,the brain zaps,headaches,and cold and flu like symptoms are unbareable,im like a bear with a sore head,crying for no reason,does this get better??

i am to start mirtazapine on wednesday,anyone know anything about them?

    Hi try cod liver oil - high dose of Omega3 and also try benadryll I read about taking those before I came off and I did ok - about 17 weeks off 100mg sertraline cold turkey now and was on it for two and a half years - feel like a new me smile Did get the brain zaps and was tired - but all ok - maybe the oil and benadryll worked?

      thanx any advice would help,ive got the doctors today ay 11am as i cant handle this anymore i feel like ive been hit by a bus

    Hi Sarah how are you feeling now? have you started mirtazapine? i was on sertraline for 4weeks and changed to mirtazapine 30mg, i had the flu like symptoms but they have now passed after 3 weeks.

    i took the mirtazipine for 4 days and really felt 10000000000000 times worse,headaches,pain behind my eyes,bad feeling of flu,brain zaps,and i couldnt stop eating i put on 4lbs,went back to the docs and she has put me back on the sertraline,im a bit miffed as to what was going on and dont think doctor helped at all

      Sorry things are worse.  Brain zaps etc seem likely even with slowly reducing sert.  I stopped it very gradually, then restarted for panic attacks, plan on very gradual reduction again (get a pill cutter.)    I've also done that with paroxetene, even shorter half life.  

      I've heard it's best to switch to a longer half life ssri like prozac, easier to withdraw from that, anybody try that?
