Anyone vomited from sertraline? I can tell it's gonna happen. How long does it last?

Hi Weeasy, try taking your meds with food and in the evening, that may help 😃

Ok an idea: tomorrow take your meds at 12pm with food, Tuesday take them at 4pm with food then on Wedneday take them at 8pm with food... hope that works 😃

The vomiting that I experienced was so severe, that after three days the doctor made me stop taking them. It was horrid. I hope yours isn't so bad and wears off quickly.

How soon into taking sertraline did your sickness come on? I'm on day 5 and I've felt nauseous from day 1 but I can feel tonight isn't gonna be fun rolleyes

Within about an hour and a half of the first tablet I started vomiting violently and it went on hour after hour. I couldn't even keep down sips of water so there was no way that I could even try taking them with food. I was getting so dehydrated that is why the doctor told me to stop. I was better within about a day of stopping them.

I have gone up to 100mg 4 days ago and ive not actually been sick but feel it, also getting the feeling im going to be as mouth waters and stomach turns but ive heard this could be acid reflux? So im thinking maybe it is as ive not actually been sick x

If you haven't actually been sick, I would think it will pass. Stick with it for a few days and I do hope that you see a big improvement very quickly.

I had bad nausea with my mouth watering and felt I was going to be sick, but I hate being sick so tried everything to stop myself. It passed within the first week to 10 days but was horrid. I take mine at night just before I get into bed. Try eating ginger biscuits, bananas and just sip water. I lived on just them for about 4 days. Have a look online about the things u can do to ease the symptoms of sertraline as that's what I done and it was really helpful x

      Hi Vikki,

How long have u been on sertraline now? Have the side effects settled down completely? I'm really worried about Weeasy and whether this drug disagrees with her completely. How long should she tolerate these awful symptoms? Weeasy - I hope you are not having self-destructive thoughts any more (this is a really bad sign). I'm taking Sert for suicidal depression and after 6 weeks, I now think I'm through the worst but I never had to go through the side effects that you and others are suffering. Keep us updated please. All the best,

      Digsby

Hiya Digsby, whether it's just for one day I don't know but today I have had a good day. Kept myself busy and active and feeling good. Haven't had anymore 'negative' thoughts. Hopefully this will last smile x

Thanks so much for letting us know that you are ok. So pleased about your good day! Hopefully the meds are setlling down now so just keep doing what you are doing and don't rush things. Your journey might not always be smooth but try not to worry too much about the bumps. They are normal. Accept them and move past them, keeping focussed on your recovery. I know this is easy to say but you need to hold on to the hope and don't let it go. You will get there!

      All the best, Digsby xx
