Serum Ferritin very high lebels

Posted , 1 user is following.

just wanted to see if i can please get some advice on this forum.

My dad's serum Ferritin has been high for over a year. Now at 970, last may he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The doctor said that his ferritin was most probably high due to the cancer.

My dad has just repeated the test in December and still high at 970. The doc has already tested the liver functions which is fine and he has not got hemochromatosis.

I am just really worried what this could be? He is now being referred to the hospital. could this still be high from

his prostate cancer? If anyone can please advise. many thanks
