My doctor isn't very helpful. I have had been to the specialist 3 times he is unhelpful as well. I've had a colonoscopy and endscopy done as well nothing was found had ultra sound nothing was found. What else could this be. I don't drink Achol I need help badly

    Hi london78541

If doc has referred you for endoscopy, colonoscopy and an ultrasound and nothing was found then you can rule out HPylori, bowel problems and anything going on in your abdomen i.e gall bladder, ovaries because ultrasound would have screened all that area and pucked it up. Apart from these tests you could ask for a CT scan which covers all over your abdomen and torso and looks at everything.

There is one other condition which can cause your symptoms and that is Gastroparitis (spellcheck) which was brought up on the forum a couple of days ago and it is a rare condition which for the most part affects women...It would be worth googling this and compare your symptoms. Then whether or not some symptoms differ ..this can happen with various conditions..go back to your doc and ask to be tested for it.

Don't be fobbed off!!..i don't know if you are a UK resident but your fitum name tells me uou are, but under the 'Patients Charter' for England and Wales you are entitled to a second opinion and as you are working you prob pay tax and toward NHS....you are entitled to more investigations regarding your health. If your not UK resident you are still entitled to a second opinion.

I do feel for you having a baby to care for..and is difficult to carry out your motherly duties when you are under this kind of stress....i wish you well and hope you can get some answers to your problem..x

Ask about IBS which can cause these symptoms.  Keep a food diary to check for intolerances.

When you had your colonoscopy was a biopsy taken?  There is also a condition called microscopic colitis which can only been seen under a microscope.  You could ask for a repeat colonoscopy so that they can check for this

Also ask about celiac.  However, I would have thought an endoscopy would have picked this up.  If everything is still negative, then IBS can be diagnosed.

Thank you for your response. The problem had start after I had my son. I also I had a emergency c section. I've changed my diet and the doctor gave me medicine for ibs. Seems to not work at all. I just wish I could be cured and not have to spend so much money for a doctor to just keep give me anti depressants.

Sometimes stomach surgery can trigger IBS and medications don't suit everyone.  What medication did your doctor give you?  I was given Mebeverine to see if it worked while they were trying to diagnose me,  it made me feel 50% worse so I stopped taking them and tried Buscopan from my chemist once I was diagnosed with IBS, It worked for my brother who also had IBS and it worked for me along with nurofen.  However, anti spasmodics tend to reduce pain rather than completely get rid of it.

IBS is treatable but not curable. Some people though do get rid of it; my brother did but he still has to be careful with potato which was his trigger.  Others will have it long term with good days and bad days. I have constant dull pain which varies in intensity, location and type. Most of the time I don't need medication.

Have you been tested for Coeliac (Celiac) Disease?  I was just diagnosed with this and I never knew it was a serious condition.  You doctor can give you a blood test.  If it appears you may have it, they should do another endoscopy to take a biopsy and get an official diagnosis.  I just had a conoloscopy/endoscopy last August and no one caught it until this past May.
