Setback ?

HI All,

i am on 40 mg of citalopram, have felt much better generally, less anxiety & have even got s new part time job, its 15 weeks tomorrow & have felt a bit anxious last few days, terrifies me im going backwards again. i had severe anxiety & terrible intrusive thoughts, ,couldnt eat. its like the memory of those awful months still scares me. will i ever get total peace x

    Hey Chrissy, you will get better I promies iv just gotten better myself when I upped my dose to 40mgs citalopram because i had a really really bad relaps which led me finding hard tk get outbof bed etc I get scared of set backs aswell but I try my hardest to Think positive the best i can I'm going back to do CBT again to refresh myself on my skills because silly me didn't practise them which led me to this bad spiral so mabe that would be a good idea for u to get abit of help!! Up to u tho!! But just know you can get better from this!!

      thanks so much for replying, i do need to go back to cbt as the un healthy thought process is habitual, i need to stop overthinking every sensation & just relax . hormones have a lot yo answer to x

    You said that you just started a new part time job, that itself can cause increased anxiety. The pills do work wonders and help so much but there are still going to be times in life where life situations will cause us anxiety, it's totally normal. I think its more of when we feel anxiety, its a trigger because we don't want to feel like we did before, also totally normal. I 100% believe that the book katekogs suggested way back when I started using this site is the best way to control it. It basically teaches you how to deal with it when you start feeling anxious, and how not to fear it, once you accomplish that then things are a lot less scary. I would continue on the dose that helped you feel better, and just work on the fear of the anxiety feeling, life will be much easier! 😃
