Total bliss eh, try sitting on. Large cushion, i do, then when i get up its easier, i then have to fight my dog for my space back, but it does help.

    Hi Vanessa,ย

As long as you don't break or compromise the 90 degree rule ... well, I am sure you know the routine of sitting down/getting up -ย

    enjoy !!!!!

    big warm hug

Slow and careful is the way, is it not possible to raise the settee at all? ย I know how hard it can be, I had to make my own raiser for my recliner chair (see my website).

Hi Graham - just been on your website, congratulations on Informative and ย  easy to understand information - only wish I knew about this before I had my op, I would have been much better ย prepared for it. Good luck with the next part can't wait to read it. X ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

I only purchased the web address and started making it about 2 weeks ago. It is a lot of work, but I am happy if I can help those coming along behind me.

There are many 'procedural' pages on the various stages to having a THR, then there will be lots of info that I have found out and much that I have gleaned from this forum and I will have to try to mention the information providers, which is going to be an awful lot of work.

First of all, what type of THR did you have? That would dictate whether there is a 90 degree rule. 7 weeks ago when I walked out of the hospital I was given one restriction. no ballet moves. I also had mine done via anterior approach.

    Hi Vanessa,

I also returned to my sofa very quickly after the op - it was so comfy and I could stretch out with a stack of pillows under my knees.

I learned a technique for getting up when there was no one around to help which involved a very unladylike roll and a push to standing with the help of my crutches.

Don't break the 90 degree rule and it's fine.
