Severe acid and pain in lower abdomen. Sickness and feeling faint

2 years ago i was prescribed omeprazole as i was getting a lot of acid, that sorted it and havent had it since until last week i woke in middle of the night with severe indigestion, acid in mouth and awful pains in lower stomach. Pain was so bad i nearly fainted. I have again been given omeprazole. This continued the next night but then settled it down by about 75% but tonight ive woken again with more acid and sickenss, ive had to sleep upright and something wether sick or acid keeps coming up its awful. The doctor was unsure why im getting acid in lower stomach (under navel) this is still coming and going but better as long as i eat very little. I am not back at docs until next week and its concerning me. Any ideas ?

ive been trying to go back to sleep but ive now got a taste of blood in my mouth and still burping and acid ??

I would ask doctor for an endoscopy to see if you have a hiatus hernia this might explain acid in throat when laying down.. But if you can also taste blood you should go to hospital a&e rather than wait for your doctor appointment..... Good luck

I used to have the same problem for years and my doctor just upped my medication to the h highest amount possible but i got fast tracked to hospital and i had tests and needed surgery i had a fundoplication back in 2013 and was taken off my medication , its not as bad as it sounds i needed a full fundoplication but my surgeon found a growth in my stomach so had to do another operation to remove my Neurendocirine Cancer so only had half of my stomach wrapped and it improved for years its only been over the last couple of weeks ive been getting the burning again .
Stress don't help so try not to worry easier said than done ,
firstly ask you doctor to arrange for you to have the camera down to see whats going on ,
Secondly ask to be referred to a consultant to see what can be done you may have to have a 24hr test to see how much acid you are making .
Then your doctor and hospital will know what to do .

Thank you for your replies. Im back at the doctors tomorrow to give a stool sample to see if any bacteria as doctor says its odd that my lower stomach area was burning too. My mum suffers with exact same thing and has a h. hernia so i was thinking along same lines. Will let you know thank you.

Maybe you need an endoscopy to see what is causing the acid. It could be GERD.

Thats lovely thank you. No mention of seeing a specialist will have ti see what stool sample says. been a nightmare today, im so hungry yet everything i est makes me feel better for 15 mins before sickness sets in. God i feel horrendous. still burning in my stomach that is slightly eased by eating before the acid returns. Im eating only foods that are easy to digest.
