hi Michelle, I'm supposes to have an esophageal manometry done this week. Could you by chance respond to me, and share your experience/ what your results were? thank you (:

hi Sabrina. Being honest it was difficult I gagged a lot and didn't think I was going to make it but I'm here. The worst part was putting the tube down the throat once I got past that after gagging and feel like I was going to throw up and cried the person tallied me through it. I thought that it was over then another thin wire was inserted which feels like something sticking in your throat, after a few you do feel that there's no threat and just know that you're going to tolerate it for the next 24 hours you can eat and you do get past that because you're hungry it's a little uncomfortable but not to the point that you want to give up. knowing that you've already been through that and then you're so relieved that you've completed it the next day and that they remove it and it's a relief but if I can do it trust me anyone can do it but you should have it done. the only thing that I find so frustrating and I still am feeling that way is that my HMO has not dictated or giving me my results as of yet and I'm so upset about all. has not dictated or giving me my results as of yet and I'm so upset about all of this. I really really am beginning to feel that people do not care I can't believe the many people that I have read and stumbled on this site which was a good thing that are having all these stomach issues and acid reflux and they can't seem to find a cure or to relieve people from taking all these unnecessary medications that after a. Of time has so many awful side effects. Please do have this test on you can do it if I can do it as I said anyone can do i.. remember you have more power over your mind and you can do all things through Christ who strengthen the shoe believe me.

Hi Gillian, please have it done yes it caused me gagging and choking at first and a little tears but trust me I'm a big baby and if I can handle it Gilligan's so can you. once you get past the first portion and then they put in the second and last wire with the little responders on it it feels like something sticking in your throat but you do get past that and you can eat with and you can eat with a trust me because I was hungry and I ate I just knowing that I only had a few hours and it would be over where they would remove it I went through and just knowing that I only had a few hours and it would be over where they would remove it I went through it. right now I'm having issues with my HMO I'm so frustrated with them because they have not dictated my results as of yet and it was only supposed to take a fewright now I'm having issues with my HMO I'm so frustrated with them because they have not dictated my results as of yet and it was only supposed to take a few days June 8th will be a month I'm still waiting on my results.

Thank you. That information does help. I was also taking the same PPi over two years ago. I recommend that you wean off slowly over 60 days. If you swallow a whole capsule it will dissolve in a spot in the stomach and cause a chemical burn. I would open each capsule and subtract 3 % of the tiny pills each week. Just draw a 1/4 inch circle on paper and remove that amount. Now take the remaining loose tiny pills with 1 cup of water, but only with food. After 30 days you will be taking only half of the tiny pills.

Here are some things you can do to protect the stomach. Remove these from your current diet:

    salmon

    baked sweet potatoes

    mashed potatoes

    oatmeal

All of those are difficult to digest and cause extra acid.

In the morning I make an ORGANIC vegetable smoothie. Carrots, spinach, apples, strawberries or blueberries. Blend on high speed 1 minute. Then on very slow low speed add 1 cup organic soy or whey protein powder and 1 cup organic yogurt. Slowly drink 16oz of smoothie.

Put the extra smoothie in a large jar and refrigerate.

You can live on this smoothie drink for many months while you heal.

I used these to heal the stomach:

    Marshmallow tea

Liquid natural vitamin E, a few drops every hour. 1 opened capsule before bed.

Low acid olive oil. 1 teaspoon every hour. 2 tablespoons before bed.

a standard calcium carbonate antacid. Chew the tablet if you feel burning.

Incline the head of your bed by 8 inches or as much as you can.

Soon you will start feeling better. Your weight will stabilize. You mental state will improve. Keep me posted. John

hi thank you for the information is this all I'll be drinking no foods my weight is very low now. Can't afford to lose any more I have other issues with osteoporosis on my left hip. Are you saying no solid foods I'm greatful for the info however this is a lot to adjust too cold turkey from solid foods suddenly. I tried olive oil one time and it burned my stomach so bad and made me feel me feel like I was going to pass out. can't say it was low acid olive oil. it was 1 teaspoon of cooking olive. where do you get low acid olive oil? Guess I can Google. I'll need to get help with my bed I have a platform bed I'm not sure how to do that what the blocks. Will wedges do putting them under your mattress perhaps? I'm really feeling a mess about right now. I need a lot of prayers about now.

    thank you

The idea of this drastic diet change is because of your serious condition. This diet is intended to reduce the stress on your stomach and allow it to heal. These foods don't require hydrochloric acid to digest, but they provide all the nutrients and protein you need. If olive oil is a problem then cut that one out. You won't be hungry because you can have more smoothie anytime as much as you want.

If you can do this for a week you will notice a difference. Then maybe you can add one item at a time.

      Hi Michelle:

Sorry to hear you're having trouble sleeping. That is very stressful in itself.

You asked about using a wedge. They do work, many people use them. You can try one. Also, If you take a PPi drug irregularly, it can cause more acid. If you stop cold turkey you get acid revenge. This may be what you are experiencing. Likely, you have numerous issues going on to cause so much pain. But, I recommend focusing on one at a time. If you can get your digestive issue under control the others will get better too.

hi Jonathan well this was the first time that I tried not taking a pill I was going to wing myself off of it due to the fact that I was having such a hard time with the acid reflux so I will do what you said and just try it little by little. .the other thing was I was wondering when you talked about the smoothies Can you use almond milk or know that was my other question or do you just use water. .you know I really appreciate you corresponding with me about this situation because yes I'm going through a lot

I'm happy to help. Actually, since you are having so much pain you need to change everything about your diet. Remove anything you were previously eating. The smoothie I listed is pretty clean and almost anyone should be able to tolerate it. I use filtered water in my smoothies. Chlorinated drinking water also must be filtered as it can kill beneficial bacteria in the gut.

hi Jonathan, being trueful. don't know if can just eating my salmon the things I mentioned are the only foods I eat aside from tuna at times I stopped eating baked chicken breast pretty much those are pretty much are I consume. I don't drink I don't smoke I don't eat sugar don't drink tea I only use honey I mean this is all I have I mean I love salmon I'm going to clean either I do do smoothies I used a vegan green smoothie I used a vegan green smoothie already have the whey mixing with spinach banana strawberries a little yogurt sometimes I. use cinnamon, avocado and also started using a plant base milk Ripple it depends to my stomach. Was going to try slippery elm or either liquid root but didn't get to it yet. The other things I have do slowly as I did earlier last year couldn't eat anything it was horrible, just have to watch the foods stay organic which I am buying and don't have a problem I usually do that eat vegetables the ones that I eat vegetables the ones that I can tolerate and eat fruit the ones that I can tolerate like I normally do the ones that I can tolerate like I normally do. and gluten-free breads because that's another thing that I also do. I'm trying hard and processing all this information are you vegan?

I am not a vegetarian but I do go vegetarian for periods of time to straighten my system out. It is the only way to allow the stomach to heal. Salmon is a trigger food for many people. I have to take enzymes when I eat any salmon, otherwise it will sit in my stomach and cause reflux and endless burping.

All I can say at this time is that I tried to help but I'm moving on to the next forum. I wish you well.
