Severe acne post-op

Hi everybody! I'm a 21yo female who got surgery recently. It has been a week and I have found that suddenly I am covered in pimples- everywhere. Tiny little white heads that look like a rash- and I cannot get rid of them. With my surgery, I initially went in to have my appendix removed due to severe pain, however along the way they discovered I had an ovarian cyst and a few lymph nodes (all got removed).

I have read online that ovarian cysts cause acne. So I guess the question is - would the removal of the cyst have caused the same? Or could it just be a reaction from something I took in the process? I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what is causing this sudden outbreak- the curiosity is killing me. I am young, however I have never been one to get many pimples- especially to this extent.

If anyone out there has any ideas or answers it would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there, I had surgery December 18th and haven’t had that reaction. I had a large cyst removed along with a ovary and tube. I feel great.. call your Dr

Hi, it's most likely due to hormonal changes if you had a cyst removed. It should clear up but if not go to a pharmacy and ask if they have something you can use on your skin to help them heal and disappear more quickly. Good luck, Poll rolleyes

I've had a little bit of break outs post surgery but they put me on hormone therapy so I think that has something to do with it and my body is adjusting.
