Severe anxiety

i am post menopausal and got hit with the worst ever anxiety. Please don't tell me about supplements, vitamins and exercise.  I have done it all, eat right and exercise daily, tried acupuncture, therapy... I am thin, and at a very healthy weight.  I started bioidenticsl hormones seversl weeks ago (lowest dose) I tried zoloft, but I had a bad reaction.  Pdoc says I react like a bipolar person on antidepressants, and wob't give me any.  I closed my business and can barely function.  Will see pdoc today.  Anybody not able to tske antidepressants.  If so, what did you do?  I feel I am at the end of my rope.

When I get anxiety, I talk to my body, myself. I tell it to "stop" or "calm down there's nothing to get excited about." I find that it goes away. Talk to your cells, they listen quite well, but make it a practice so that the effects of your instructions will work when you demand it. If this fails then I recommend St. John's wort if you haven't tried it.

Bach's Rescue Remedy...seriously.  And there are other essenses as well.  I can't even explain how they work, it is so simple it is stupid...but it does.  I was at the point of just wanting to die and my girlfriend gave me a shot of this stuff.  Changed in one day.

Yes, it is found at the health food store, but I tried many supplients before this as well, with limited results.

Don't feel bad, I hear you as I have done it all too. Guess some of us just really struggle when the hormones go out of whack. Been to integrative medicine doctors, naturopaths, mainstream MDs, vitamins, herbs and supplements, did yoga and pilates several times a week, walked day.....and on and on. Felt like such a loser that this nonsense has quite the grip on me sometimes, but I know I shouldn't. It's just my make up and same for you. Not sure what to tell you, I did try antidepressants as well, still no help so gave on them too. Just praying this will pass  as I am 2 yrs post and there are days that I feel more like myself but then there are those days....

Wishing the best for you as I have nothing to offer but my empathy as I know it really stinks.

did anyone suggest st. johns wort?  I have not had to take anything for this yet but if so, i will try this.  It might be a good alternative for you, to antidepressants that doctors prescribe.  sorry can't be more helpful, i really sympathise with you when you've tried everything. it's so frustrating when you think you are doing everything to help yourself and it slaps you in the face again.  neutral

Hi, I suggested St. John's wort. It worked for me. But just recently I started to get it and calm myself by saying No! and luckily it goes away

It worked for me about 3 years ago. If I notice it to come back I'll try Bach's rescue remedy and see how it works. I've read it works a d it's cheaper than St. John's wort.

i have rescue remedy and it works for me too at the moment.  This lady seems to being having a lot of anxiety so not sure if she needs something stronger.  I used bach's only when I need it now, and thankfully I am not having bad anxiety attacks, just breathing through. Can get to a debilitating stage I imagine if you let it.  Dread that.

My doctor says the breathing issue is caused by GERD. I got rid of it by juicing cabbage. I don't get it anymore. And if I feel it a little I buy cabbage and make Cole slaw.

is Rescue Remedy, crosado.  It's a herbal mixture that helps with anxiety. you put a few drops on your tongue.  Works well.  Lots of ladies on here use it.  Look up flower remedies online.

i find kale great when it's juiced.  I add blueberries and chia and a frozen banana.  must try the cabbage too.

How can you test before taking it if you are allergic to it ..I need something really bad I have such reactions to medication and stuff

Rescue remedy is floral essenses in a tincture of brandy.  If you are not allergic to florals or brandy you should be ok.

They them in lozenges, I didn't know had brandy in the liquid. I'm changing my order to the lozenges. Last thing I want is to get sick from the liquor.

They're called Pastilles in Lemon flavor. I found it on Amazon.

Thanks for saying that!  I just started with kale a few days ago...I think I might stick to spinach instead!

You only take a few drops, I am sure cough syrup back when had just as much or more alcohol in them.  But yes, there are non alcohol alternatives to the Bach remedies so I've heard.

Drink lemon water to flush out any oxalates from the kale if you're concerned about it giving you kidney stones.

tell me more about kidney stones and kale.  Been using kale a good few months now..

kale is actually fine.  It is very good for you.  I've just asked my nutritionalist friend.  All things in moderation!!

just been told that you'd want to be eating a lot of it to cause kidney stones.  It is very good for you. Spinach is actually much higher in oxalates than Kale.
