Severe anxiety and depression at work

Posted , 5 users are following.

Everything little thing I do from whipping down a mirror too actively communicating with people I feel anxious and depressed.

I'm 23 hand the thought of work makes me anxious and in a negative frame of mind, even though I really want to contribute to society.

The longest job I've had is about a year, which I didn't quit.

Lost my father to suicide at 16, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Help appreciated.

I completely understand this. I am currently unemployed and wont be looking for a "real" job (as I call it) anytime soon because I feel the same way.

All I can say is; dont be too hard on yourself. You dont have to have everything figured out already. What helps me; is to write things down especially when I feel really depressed or anxious. It helps you to get some things out and you might come to see a pattern of a dominant emotion or feeling which causes you to feel this way, and then maybe you could just try and work on that. I dont know, try it maybe?

Thankyou for you advices, I just feel so messed up right now.

It's just hard to explain, like I forget things so easy, I just want too be by myself. The thought of work makes me ill, the thought of even being in general public makes me ill. I have very little money at the moment, which also makes me feel very stressed.

I just feel by now age (23,going on 24 next month) I should have established a foundation. By that in mean a secure job, heaps of savings ready to buy a house.

You are still young, you have time to work things out. I'm 27 and last year changed my career completely. My last job left me with heart palpitations every day and I just snapped and left. Now I'm working in a different place, and my boss treats me every now and then - such as coffee and cake this week! I'm much happier now. Anxiety is still a problem but it's not as bad these days! Maybe you could work part time for a while? That way you are still earning but not putting much pressure on yourself?

I'm just starting my own business in personal training I'm working, but it's so hard to get clients as I'm within a small gym. Could be adding to my stressors and I owe $1000 bond and I don't have that sort of

Money around at the moment. I just don't feel like going out, interacting with anyone.

    Hi Hulky

I'm 22 and I have the same thing, don't stress though man, these days theres soo much social pressure out there making you feel under pressure to have things a certain way, don't worry man

What you have going on now will pass,I had a really bad period of social anxiety and memory problems a couple of years ago and I found that once you change your situation, a lot of these problems can solve themselves naturally.

It may me a good idea to speak to your doctor to see what he can recomend for you.

You may need meds temporary but if they help with your feelings thats a good thing.

There are therapies available too, and these can be really beneficial.

I did CBT and that was good.

Also listening to positive affirmations were good for me too.

Let us know how you get on but seriously go and see your doctor.

stay strong... and know that it is very common and you are not alone 😊
