severe cramping in lower abdomen and lower back pain

for a while now have had problems with constipation it's due to the medications I take for blood pressure. I have tried over the counter stool softeners, which relieved the constipation song however it had to be a nightly thing as well as taken Metamucil. Then in mid summer of 2017 I started having nausea, abdominal pain, cramping and contacted my gastroenterologist. He thought that my problems could be related to problems with my High hernia. Tested for that with an upper GI everything look good so then he diagnosed as me with IBS with severe constipation. He then gave me a high strength of Linzess and that cause diarrhea with severe cramping. I went back to him he ordered a CT scan of my abdomen for nausea and constipation. Test came back good , so they're just going to treat me with a lower dose. So far not helped wth the cramping and lower back pain.

Hi Lynda, I have similar symptoms for almost 6 months (right abdominal and lower back pain) and my doctor finally ordered a colonoscopy to check for ulcerative colitis I guess. They have been x-raying me a lot, so I asked my dr not to give me x-ray and CTs anymore. But as you said nothing helps to ease the pain😒

If you have IBS, you will need an antispasmodic like Buscopan which helps with the pain and cramping.  You can get it over the counter.  If it doesn’t work ask your doctor tor one.  There are many on the market; you may have to try several.  Back pan is common woth IBS.

constipation can be helped with Isabgol, try it.

i'm currently on Mebeverine 3 times a day, change of diet,

boiled chicken with garlic curry powder and salt or garlic, bisto gravy , salt. 1 banana with empty stomach and Isabgol take as instructed on leaflet.

IBS is for life and stress is it's no one IBS trigger, anxiety is also an enemy but who doesn't have stress?

I've moved to boring food and treat myself with food once in a while knowing i'm going to suffer.

red meat never have but fish is best friend in foods for IBS
