Severe digital eye strain (CVS)

Hello,

I've been to 2 optometrists in order to get rid of right eye strain to no avail. It's been going on for months and stemmed from too many long hours using the computer. I'm at the point where I can't make use of my right eye for more than 20 minutes without puffiness and eventual debilitating pain developing from the corners (usually inner corner). Over the past 2 months I've been prescribed glasses and steroids which help slightly but are not a true remedy. The only thing that seems to help is days to weeks without using computers, screens in general or doing prolonged reading, though I can't tell if healing is plateauing or if I just need weeks to months of rest.

Is this just a matter of a very slow healing repetitive stress injury? Or are there other solutions? I'm seeing a specialist soon but any other tips or shared experiences would be great. I'm trying to make it through a final semester in my comp sci program and start a new tech job, but these seem like impossible feats given the rate of healing.

Many thanks.
