Severe eye pain and visual disturbances constantly getting worse

I Have been dealing with an undiagnosed illness for two years now. I have been to every specialist imaginable to no avail. I finally pushed myself to go back to work in December and about 5 weeks ago it hit me again worse than ever. The absolute worst things are severe debilitating eye pain that’s never ending, eyes continually getting worse red, and visual disturbances that have gotten dramatically worse the last five weeks. Constantly see light burned into my eyes even with my eyes closed see white flying dots all the time bad eye floaters severe light sensitivity repeatedly seeing objects everything I look at at times almost constantly seeing my heartbeat in my eyes now all the time and so much more. weird head feelings and clogged ears random muscle twitches hands constantly going numb and im sure theres more im missing. About the only thing that helps with the severe eye pain is nerve medicine which makes no sense It is like living the worlds worst nightmare. Also my blood pressure has been running dangerously high and had to start blood pressure medicine. i cannot find anyone that has dealt with anything like this if theres anyone that can help in any way please do.

hi yes I had all of these symptoms and more besides. You may not like my answer to you because I had/have an auto immune disorder and that's what caused it. It was a nightmare to have diagnosed and difficult to get under control. I am now in remission though after good treatment. I obviously don't know what is going on with you. I can't diagnose your situation, but I know I went all round the houses trying to get answers ent knew nothing....no one knew really. Until I saw a rheumatologist because after a certain amount of time I also developed joint pain and I had such bad fatigue my doc was about to diagnose me with chronic fatigue syndrome but she wanted to make sure. I went on a road to diagnosis via rheumatology then to oral immunology and finally was diagnosed by an immunologist. I don't know if you have other health issues going on. I also had a diagnosis of irritable bowel. It was all part of the same disorder.
I would advise you to ask for blood tests which look at esr crp and ana. These are inflammatory markers which may be raised if you have an underlying condition. If they are raised push for a referral. If you are in the uk and can do an initial private consultation I would recommend it. But not knowing where you are I am not sure how practical that it is. I sympathise with you whatever your cause because I had years of it without answers an didn't get diagnosed until I was almost 40.

did you have the severe eye pain and visual disturbances? this in the past five weeks has gotten so much worse it has all but stopped life honestly scared to death foe my life j have never found anyone with these same symptoms and i cant ever escape it even when i close my eyes always see blue. this has completely destroyed my life i am in the united states KENTUCKY to be exact. i would greatly appreciate more details if you have time. im only 33 and it has stopped life. you can even email if youd feel more comfortable i am beyond desperate for help. i feel like i have been left to die its beyond terrifying. one other weird thing is my white blood count is always really high like in the 17 thousands and noone can give me answers to that which indicates infection but noone knows where it is coming from. i was admitted to the university of louisville without any help been to the university of kentucky and so much more with no help at all. those two hospitals alone are some of the best around our region. i greatly appreciate any and all help it is needed more than i could ever say. its all you can do not to lose your mind being in so much pain and your greatest sense your vision going downhill so quickly. i still have good clarity thank the Lord but the visual problems are so bad you cant stand to do anything normal light outside hurts so bad you cant stand to be outside and watching tv or anything you always see the light burned into your vision it makes it unbearable

I had almost constant eye pain at one point yes. And extreme visual disturbances which were hard to describe to anyone they were so weird. I ended up having mild seizures after a time without it being treated.
What you say about high white blood cell count is interesting as this does indicate auto immune disease or it can do. Also I think you are describing photophobia which I also had. So yes I had similar things going on. Have you had your eyes reviewed? Have you seen an opthalmologist or even had a routine eye test? This would highlight anything sinister going on there. Do you have dry eyes?
Is your general health good?? Any sort of ibs symptoms...any skin problems?

aaron the eye pain and seeing blue suggests something in posterior eye. i would see a retina specialist to rule out posterior uveitis. i had this and was misdiagnosed for almost 2 months. is it one eye only? Any floaters?

you really need to ask for OCT SCANS
easy test where you just look into a machine and they see all eye structures.
