Severe groin pain

Hi.. My sister is experiencing severe pain in her left groin area. She is in tears every night and no one seems to be able to help. She was in hospital for a week and underwent a MRI, CAT scan etc and still nothing. They say they can't find anything. It is constant in her left side. It used to go down her left leg also but not so much now. She says it feels like her inside are being pulled apart and when the pain eases her left side feels heavy. She has had a massage machine to see if it is muscle related with still no success. It started before Christmas 2012 and had stayed getting worse and worse. She can't take anymore. Can anybody help us???

Hey so I just posted on here and than read some posts so I don't mean to jump to the worst thing but if you have groin pain radiating down your leg feel for lumps... there's something called synovial sarcoma and it's very rare and present in thigh causing pain, it's very difficult to find and I know everyone is probably got slightly different problems on here, but you have to advocate for yourself also for me .. a lot of breast cancers present in groin and thigh. Weird I know.

    Hi gemma424 and others,

I just saw this posting and thought I would share my experience.  I had the same pain in my left groin, and nerve pain did go down my left side for over two years.  Pain medicine didn't really help.  I got MRI, CAT scan done and nothing.  Saw physio, chiro, family doctor, emergency doctor, acupuncturist, DTCM, RMT, other specialists and nothing.  It turned out to be a very minor pelvic misalignment. To see If you have this problem - sit down on the floor with your back against the wall and legs straight out.  IF one of the legs isn't parallel with the floor you could have this misalignment.  My left leg pop slightly up, and was also little bit longer than my right.  The tui na massage specialist I saw had healed about 30 individuals with this problem and diagnosed it right away.  The solution was realigning pelvis ever so slightly:  when lying down a thumb was inserted in the hip crease as the leg was raised then lowered down.  The thumb basically helped wedge the leg back in place.  Unfortunately, the recovery process is dependent on how old the injury is.

Note that I found other articles where individuals forced the misalignment into place by jumping and landing.

Best of luck to everyone.  It was two years of pain, and two more years of massage/exercise before I fully recovered.

After reading all the testimonies about groin pain, I am not encouraged.  I have had right side groin pain for about 4 months and often wake up yelling in the middle of the night.  Putting on socks and shoes is painful; also getting in and out of a car, plus numerous other times with certain activities.  I haven't seen my doctor yet, but guess I should start there.  He is usually very thorough.  However, it sounds like I have to jump thru numerous hoops to get any definitive answers...or no answers.  What a bummer!  I have coped well with COPD for the past 4 years...and now this!  Peace and love to all of you who are still suffering!

I have had right groin pain since June 2016. Various tests, medication, nothing has helped sadly. I try and carry on each day, but some days I just have to lay down. I had to stop work, so on top of all this, money is another worry. I have had nerve block injections, which helped a little for a few weeks and am now waiting for another, called facet joint injection. So keep hopefull that something will kill the nerve that is throbbing all the time and stopping me from sleeping, which also messes up your life. I hope that your pain is found and stopped soon.
